Our Providers

Erin Harrell was an editor for the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry for 8 years before going to nursing school. She worked as a critical care nurse at Methodist University Hospital and completed her graduate studies at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2015. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings, and was mentored by the late Dr. Steven Rice. She opened In Focus Psychiatry in August 2016. The Oxford location opened in October 2018. Erin is a board-certified family psychiatric nurse practitioner with a primary interest in pervasive developmental and intellectual disorders. She sees adults and children at the Hernando office.

Katelyn Conner graduated with her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Baptist College of Health Sciences in 2013 and worked as an RN at Parkwood Hospital. She obtained her doctorate of nursing practice degree from the University of Tennessee in May 2017 and has worked in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings. Katelyn joined In Focus in August 2019. She is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner and sees all ages at the Hernando office.

Alison Perryman joined the team in May 2023. She is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner and sees patients of all ages in the Hernando office.

Tracy Burns graduated from Northwest Mississippi Community College in 2010 with her associate’s degree in nursing and from South University with her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2016. She has worked as an RN in long-term care, medical-surgical nursing and home health. She went on to complete her advanced practice nursing degree at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in May of 2018. She is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. Tracy sees adult patients at the Hernando office.

Kristen Locke joined the practice in September 2020. She graduated from Northwest Mississippi Community College in 2008 with an associate’s degree in nursing. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2013 from Delta State University. Her background includes over 10 years of emergency nursing. Kristen graduated from University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2017 where she received her doctorate of nursing practice degree. She worked in outpatient community mental health before joining In Focus Psychiatry. Kristen sees patients of all ages at the Hernando office.

Alex Blackburn joined In Focus in August 2023. She graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2019 with a doctor of nursing practice. Her background includes critical care and nursing administration, and she was formerly an assistant professor of nursing at Christian Brothers University. She continues as adjunct faculty, teaching Professional Nursing and Mental Health. Alex is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner and sees patients of all ages in our Oxford office.

In accordance with the Mississippi Board of Nursing requirement, our providers maintain a collaborative agreement with a board-certified psychiatrist licensed to practice in Mississippi.

office staff

Kasey Barham joined In Focus in February 2019 as the practice manager for all locations. She graduated from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and psychology.

Jessica Cummings joined the practice in October 2020. She is the front office manager for the Hernando and Oxford offices.

Megan Cantrell joined In Focus in July 2023. She is the insurance verification specialist for both locations.

Ashlee Stewart joined the practice in May 2024. She is the front office receptionist in the Hernando office.

Kelly Self is the receptionist in our Oxford office.

Victoria Greer joined our Hernando front office staff in December of 2023.

Lacey Cothern joined the Hernando office as medical assistant in January 2024. She is from Southaven, MS, and graduated from Delta Technical College with a phlebotomy certificate in 2023. She was previously a phlebotomist at Baptist Hospital.

Finnegan (left) and Molly (right) are the In Focus animal companions. They belong to Erin and have been coming to In Focus since the practice opened in 2016.
